LCEGS Midlands Study Spotlight

Midlands Energy Hub - Low Carbon Environmental Goods and Services Sector

kMatrix was commissioned by the Midlands Energy Hub, alongside partner organisation Sustainability West Midlands to provide an evidence-based study into the Low Carbon Environmental Goods and Services sector across the nine Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) and 65 Local Authorities within the Midlands Energy Hub region.  The study included extensive market intelligence and analysis of the sector by kMatrix, combined with literature review, stakeholder engagement and policy recommendations led by SWM.  The project ran from November 2020 to March 2021 and provided detail regarding the current state of the LCEGS sector in the Midlands, compared with the rest of the UK, where support is needed and the role the sector could potentially play in driving a low-carbon recovery from Covid-19.
